Smart search capabilities – From the moment you login, you can search addresses, cities, states, regions and even landmarks in the simple search box. If you’d rather just start searching the map directly by clicking and using the zoom tools, you can do that too. When you use the search bar, FiberLocator will place a pushpin to mark the location you’ve specified, and the pushpin will remain in your session until you decide to clear your markers. |
Zooms to street level – See metro fiber routes, long-haul networks, data centers, lit buildings and more. You can zoom in and out of any map view in FiberLocator with the various tools. The tool functions in FiberLocator align with many other common mapping applications, so there’s no specialized training required to start using and benefiting from FiberLocator. |
Layers for specific views – Turn on and off different layers for the data you’d like to see. Choose from different layers including long-haul fiber networks, metro networks, lit buildings, and data centers. You can even control the layers down to a specific carrier or set of carriers. That means if you need to be sure to include or exclude any provider from your search, you can do it with just a click. |
Dynamic legend of providers – In FiberLocator, carriers are specified and differentiated on the map by colored lines visible along long-haul and metro network paths. In the past, the challenge was seeing deeper than 2D to see how many carriers follow the same path. In FiberLocator, you’ll see deeper with the info tool can show you how many providers have fiber at a certain point or ride along the same path. |
See intel inside – One of the most powerful functions of FiberLocator is the ability to learn which carriers light a certain building or data center and which may have fiber in the street nearby. FiberLocator also reports on PoPs and carrier hotels. Just use the info tool to click on a building or data center icon and immediately see a listing of carriers. |
Radius visualization tool – Oftentimes, getting surrounding data from a single reference point is helpful when selecting carriers that are near-net but not on-net to a certain building or location. FiberLocator enables you to view all networks, buildings, landmarks and more within a specified radius with a red circle overlay on the existing map view. Clear the area or designate a new radius using the tools in FiberLocator. |
Multi-point distance measurement – From time to time, you may need to measure fiber distances and spans between points and networks. FiberLocator offers a distance measurement tool that lets you click along a route, with as many directions changes as you’d like, and then reports on the distance in feet and in miles. |
Convenient outputs – Take FiberLocator data with you quickly and easily with multiple output options. You can print maps including the carrier legend or save your sessions for later analysis in FiberLocator. You can even upload your own logo or graphic header to the map to insert in a report or power point presentation. |
Mobile compatibility – Get data and maps anywhere on your smart phone or tablet. You can access FiberLocator on your iPhone, iPad, Droid or other mobile operating system because the app can sense your browser and display the optimal version for your device. |
